This project seeks to examine the extent to which fertility intentions are fulfilled.
The research focuses on the empirical analysis of panel data. It also looks into the policy recommendations that can be formulated to bridge the possible gap between the desired and the actual number of children. The project is funded by the DG Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities of the European Commission and is a joint initiative of the Vienna Institute of Demography (VID), the Institut National d'Études Démographiques (INED), Università Bocconi and the Hungarian Statistical Office. It is coordinated by the VID.
