In addition to mathematical research, Mark Peletier (1969) is engaged in the application of mathematics within industry, biology and geology.
With regard to the geological aspect, he has conducted research - in cooperation with geologists - into how geological layers slowly deform and fold. Moreover, Peletier explains his research to a wider public, including children. He is also an active member of the Royal Dutch Mathematical Society.
