Dolf Weijers (1976) investigates how different cell types are established in the early plant embryo, and how these cell types communicate to generate functional organs.
In his research program, he combines genetics, molecular biology, genomics, cell biology and biochemistry. He has published widely in top journals. In 2006, he received a VIDI-grant and the annual award of the Netherlands Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. In 2011, he was awarded a Starting Grant from the European Research Council.
